This is the time of year for weddings and babies! Lots of weddings and lots of babies coming into the world! Welcome the new arrival and her family with a beautiful customized shower cake! I can sculpt a huge variety of figurines. The colors are endless also.
Here are some quick tips for planning the cake you want:
1. Make sure that the cake you are going to order fits the number of guests at your blessed event.
2. Let your decorator know EXACTLY what you want before you confirm your order!
3. Colors and themes are important features for your cake. It is really awesome to blend this in with what you are presenting at the shower.
4. Know what to expect in pricing. Simple cakes are much less expensive than ones that involve
a lot of detail work. A tiered cake is not as not going to be the same price as a sheet cake. There is more labor involved in the stacking of tiers, as well as transporting. Depending on whether or not your has fondant draped tiers makes a big difference in cost.
5. Time to order: Please order your cake at least two weeks in advance. This way, the decorator has sufficient time to order any needed items that may not be on hand.

Just how important is it to be feeling your best on that most important day?
I have seen brides' emotions run from calm and cool to moody, stressed and even rude (I mean brides talking mean to their own mothers!). All of these moods are to be expected at some point during the planning and maybe even on that blessed day, but what options are out there for brides to be and their attendees? Here are some viable considerations:
Why not consider taking a yoga class? Bring along your maid of honor, maybe your bridesmaids,if available. Why not hold a class in your own livingroom? Buy a great dvd, it doesn't have to be yoga, it can be anything that you feel comfortable with. The idea is to breakaway from the stress of all the planning. so many places to go, and things to do. Have fun! Buy a walking dvd. It's easy to do for anyone, and the group dvds are really fun! Leslie Sansone has some great offers!
Take time for yourself. Remember, this is a time that carries its own excitement with it! You don't have to look for it, because it is right there everyday to remind you of how fun and how hectic it is to put all the details together. This should be a time of joy and team work. Take some deep breaths when your head starts to spin! Yoga is great for meditation. Relax and breathe! Go buy yourself some flowers! This may seem too simplistic, but it really is not. Here is one analogy that I like to offer: I love to do word find puzzles. It is pretty easy to become frustrated when I can't find a word that I think should be easy to find. When that happens, I take a step back and tell myself to not look so hard. Refocus and look at the whole puzzle, and before I know it, there is the word that I was fussing over so much!
There is an old saying: "You can't see the forest for the trees". Take a step back, and refocus. Look at the whole picture. Take a few deep breaths, then start walking down that path!
